Corto Camping Safari
Our Camping Safari solution is no longer only reserved for adventurers, as it offers quite high level of comfort while allowing high mobility, especially relevant to the trekking community. Your cook is on duty full time, and your driver / guide will be there at anytime, to help you spend a memorable time while ensuring your safety.
Equipment Supplied
- 3 Man Domed tents (used for 2 only) with mattress and cover.
- All the cooking equipment, tables, chairs and large tent for the meals
- All the food for the expedition, with fresh local produce.
- Hearty Warm meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Health
- Vaccines : Yellow Fever (international vaccination book) required for Tanzania. It is strongly advised to be up-to-date with all other vaccinations such as tetanus, typhoid, and possibly meningitis and hepatitis. Cholera vaccination is no longer required.
- Malaria : Nivaquine + Paludrine or Savarine or Malarone preferably a course to start before the departure and to continue after the return back home – following doctor’s advice and drugs manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Mosquito protection: Spray, Cream, and clothes wash.

Water and Drinks
During your camping Safari, drinking water will be made from decontaminating and purifying water – thanks to tablets that you must bring, as they are not available here. Some camps located outside the national parks sell fresh drinks. Once inside the parks, it is also possible to stop in the evenings at lodges for refreshments should you want to.
Luggage
- A large rug sack or backpack. No suitcase !
- A smaller trekking bag for your personal items (25 to 40 kg).
If you will be combining several trips, you can leave some items of luggage at our office located in Arusha. These will be kept safely until your return. Because of airport surcharges, we advise that you take your sleeping bag, and other items of first importance as hand luggage. Think about bringing plastic shoes (crocs) for swimming and crossing waterfalls and rivers.
Photography - Video
It is wiser to buy films or memory cards in sufficient quantities before your departure. Most of our cars are equipped with power sockets 220V – UK style (please check availability during the booking), which allows you to recharge your cameras and camcorders batteries. For animal photography, we recommend a 300mm lens. Dust Protection bag. Binoculars. Spare batteries.
